A visit back to Daytona for Paul Goldsmith to meet the “Roarin’ Relic,” a 1949 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 that is widely-believed to be the oldest remaining NASCAR racer, 62-years after he raced her for the final time. Two days later in ’58, Goldsmith won the final major Beach-Road course. Goldsmith is the only man to win major races on the Daytona Beach-Road Course using both a motorcycle and an automobile. Goldsmith later padded his legacy by winning on the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway.
